Why Lisa?

I have experience that gives me a unique outlook as a CVUSD trustee:

  • My research background - much of it in public schools - has given me extensive practice synthesizing large amounts of data into a coherent story. 

  • As a social worker, I have worked with and for vulnerable groups across Southern California. I live and work by the values of the field of social work including integrity, service, and the dignity of every person. 

  • As a parent, I bring the experiences of my two sons’ educations in both the CVUSD and elsewhere (including parent leadership and classroom volunteer roles). 

  • My knowledge and experiences as an engaged city resident and community volunteer, which include serving on City of Thousand Oaks committees for over a decade, are proof of my dedication to making our community stronger.

  • CVUSD Trustee since 2022. Served as Board President for 2025. Served on the following committees: LCAP/ Budget Committee, Greater Conejo Chamber of Commerce Education & Workforce Development Committee, Technology Committee, Adult Education Advisory Committee, Health Benefits Committee, and Conejo Coalition for Youth and Families.

    Education Research Consultant. Provide evaluation research and technical assistance services to public schools in LAUSD and Pasadena.

    Project Manager, Public Works, Inc.: Designed/managed evaluations of educational and social programs, including non-profit and public programs, for clients including Los Angeles Unified School District and Los Angeles County Office of Education.
